Tourism Month
This Tourism Month we're sharing our province’s biodiversity gems - from the Cape Floral Kingdom to the variety of national parks, botanical gardens and animal life.
Welcome to the official tourism website of Cape Town & Western Cape. In addition to being your online source for all information on travelling in and around the destination, it contains great features enabling you to easily plan the trip of your dreams.
In 2010, the FIFA World Cup™ was about much more than the game of football. To get the full experience, every fan and visitor was encouraged to 'kick' on Beyond the 90 Minutes for special offers to get a combination of extraordinary experiences and affordable accommodation.
We want you to experience so many places, people and things above and beyond the football. So we’ve drawn up some itineraries for you to follow, no matter what your interests or how much time you have.
There are half-day itineraries if you are pressed for time, full- day itineraries that will take you in and around the city, and three day itineraries if you have a few days to spare.
Itineraries are categorised into Natural Beauty, Culture & Heritage, Gourmet Delights, Body Mind & Spirit, Cosmopolitan Vibe and Outdoor Active Fun. Everything you need to do, see and experience can be found in these exciting tailor-made guides.
You can also check out visitors like you enjoying themselves at www.youtube.com/tourismcapetown.
Welcome to Cape Town and the Western Cape!
This Tourism Month we're sharing our province’s biodiversity gems - from the Cape Floral Kingdom to the variety of national parks, botanical gardens and animal life.
It's Flower Season!A magical time when mountains and fields are ablaze as an endless, kaleidoscope of wild flowers burst, almost simultaneously, into full bloom.
Set against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch is the largest of South Africa's 8 national gardens and one of the world's leading botanical gardens.
The coming of the whales to the Western Cape's Cape Whale Coast, between June and November, creates a huge stir with marine lovers.
A 30 000ha birdwatcher's paradise with pristine golden beaches. It also borders the azure Langebaan Lagoon where water sports and summer fun are the order of the day.
There are variety of superb game lodges, beautiful reserves, elephant sanctuaries, amazing wildlife and wonderful hiking trails, both coastal and inland.
There is nothing half as delightful as a trip to Boulders Beach in Simons Town, home to a growing colony of African Penguins now said to number over 3000.
